This course will include instruction in various phases of cabinet construction which include job safety, hand tools, machine usage, joinery, layout, estimating, and cabinet construction. Lectures, demonstrations, and practical work experience in cabinet construction will be included in the methods of instruction. The first section of instruction will emphasize production style of work through designated projects and various types of basic joints used in cabinet construction. The last section will include design, advanced joinery, and fasteners, while integrating these techniques and concepts into the custom building of cabinets based on the individual’s abilities/skill set. OSHA 10 Safety Certification included.
